Feng Shui? Nah.
POSTED AT 09:11 AM

Several nights back Joe and I were talking, and he casually mentioned that maybe I've unwittingly followed feng shui principles when I rearranged our room.  (Unwittingly, I say, because even though my mom's side of the family is partly of Chinese descent, I don't know ANYTHING about feng shui.)  He said we are more relaxed now, more in tune with each other.  I've noticed that, too.  Early on in our marriage things weren't looking good: the dust of unforeseen events didn't settle that easily, and more more more skeletons were being dug up.  There were almost violent screaming matches, and yes, talk of separation.  But lately, lately.  We do have spats, but not that serious anymore.  I think, though, that the improvement has little to do with feng shui.  I indulge myself with the idea that after more than 1 1/2 years, we've come to love and know each other more.  And that's good.
